Editorial guidelines

Mission and scope

We explain the Ascendant in plain language and give tools that work. We aim for clarity first. Every page should help you act or learn in minutes.

How we source

We use primary texts, modern reference tables, and vetted data for time zones and daylight saving rules. We cite sources on our Sources and method page. We avoid vague claims and unsourced lists.

Fact checking

Editors check dates, terms, and definitions. We test the calculator against known charts with known birth records and compare outputs in edge cases.

Updates and reviews

We review core pages on a set cycle and update when new data or better language is available. Each page carries a last updated date.

Reader feedback

If you see an error, tell us on the contact page. Include the URL and a short note. We log issues and track fixes.

Corrections

For clear mistakes we correct the text and add a change note if the error could mislead readers. Minor edits for tone or style may not get a note.

Independence and funding

If we add ads or links that pay a fee we will label them. Editorial calls come first. We do not sell placement in guides.

Use of automation

We may use tools to speed checks or drafts, but a human editor reviews every page before it goes live. We do not publish auto text without review.
